Both our shelling and finished goods processing plants are inspected, audited, and certified under the food safety and quality standards adopted by Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Additionally, our primary Ripon processing plant received a “Superior” rating during its last three AHPA (Almond Huller’s & Processor’s Association) plant audits.
We take great pride in our clean and efficient processing operations. We use the latest equipment, food safety, and quality control methods necessary to produce consistently high quality products meeting or exceeding industry standards.
Quality management and food safety begins in the field, with grower cultural practices and safe/clean ranch harvesting. It is followed by hulling, shelling, sizing, sorting and packaging at or consistently-above USDA grades and standards.
Incoming samples of hulled and shelled almond meats are inspected at our facilities and meet or exceed United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards for variety, grade, and quality. The nut meats, or kernels, are cleaned, sized, and sorted. Our electronic sorting equipment is extremely efficient in removing foreign material and defective kernels. Hand-visual sorting provides final visual assurance that the product is clean and ready for packaging.
Almond Ace sanitation and food safety standards are among the highest in the industry, both in the field and in our processing plants. Our facilities are equipped state-of-the-art machines and personnel in order to operate safely in a clean, sanitary environment.
Finally, we coordinate all shipments and ensure that each customer order is complete, with all required documents, certifications, and lab tests. With the most advanced metal detection and prevention, laser and electronic sorting and processing equipment., we can achieve the low levels of foreign material required to meet the strict specifications of confectionary grade products.
